Greening America's Communities (formerly known as Greening America's Capitals) is a U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program to help cities and towns plan for environmentally friendly neighborhoods that incorporate innovative green infrastructure strategies. In collaboration with U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, EPA provides design assistance to help support sustainable communities that protect the environment, economy, and public health - and to inspire state leaders to expand this work elsewhere.

Limiting the Magnitude of Climate Change focuses on climate change mitigation goals, opportunities, and policies, and recommends the U.S. climate policy goal be stated in terms of a budget for cumulative greenhouse gas emissions over the period 2012 to 2050. The report suggests the revenues created by tax receipts or allowance sales from carbon pricing could be used to fund climate adaptation efforts.

This NOAA funded project is assessing flood risk associated with existing and future land use and climate change scenarios for the Lamprey River watershed of Great Bay, New Hampshire to support land use decision-making. Leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease spread by the bite of the sandfly, is indigenous to México and the state of Texas, and has begun to expand its range northward. The models developed as part of this study predict that climate change will exacerbate the ecological risk of human exposure to leishmaniasis in areas outside its present range in the United States and, possibly, in parts of southern Canada. Further expansion to the north may be facilitated by climate change as more habitat becomes suitable for the disease's vector and reservoir species.

The National Landscape Conservation System (NLCS) is a collection of BLM lands which are mandated to protect specific resources, including natural, cultural, geologic, scenic, scientific, and recreational resources, found within their boundaries. Several agencies, including the BLM and the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service, are mandated by DOI Secretarial Order 3289 to "consider and analyze potential climate change impacts when undertaking long-range planning exercises, setting priorities for scientific research, developing multi-year management plans, and making major decisions about the potential use of resources under the Department's purview.
