The Cornell Institute for Climate Smart Solutions (CICSS) is hosted by the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Department, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and partner agencies established regional Climate Hubs across the U.S. in 2014. The Hubs offer regionally focused tools, strategies management options, and technical support to farmers, ranchers and forest land owners to help them adapt to climate change. The Hubs also direct land managers to agencies that can provide program support to help implement adaptive management practices.

The National Farmers Union (NFU) Climate Leaders is a community of farmers, ranchers, educators, policy makers, journalists and citizens that are focusing on the threats posed to agriculture and food security by climate change, and finding collective solutions. The union Climate Leaders intend to spread awareness about climate change impacts on farmers, what they need to know and what they can do about climate change. The mission of the NFU is to advocate for the economic and social well-being, and quality of life of family farmers, ranchers, fishermen and consumers and their communities through education, cooperation and legislation.

Following the passage of the NIDIS Act of 2006, The National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS) was established to develop an integrated drought monitoring and forecasting system at federal, state, and local levels. NIDIS's research goals focus on risk assessment, forecasting, and management. One of its primary projects is the U. S. Drought Portal, which is part of an interactive system to provide early warning about anticipated droughts, impact and risk assessments, planning tools, and drought historical data.

Originally established by Congress in 1935 as the Soil Conservation Service (SCS), NRCS has expanded to become a conservation leader for all natural resources, ensuring private lands are conserved, restored, and more resilient to environmental challenges, like climate change. NRCS works with landowners through conservation planning and assistance designed to benefit the resources that result in productive lands and healthy ecosystems. NRCS experts from many disciplines come together to help landowners conserve natural resources in efficient, smart and sustainable ways.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (WA DNR) manages 5.6 million acres of forest, range, agricultural, aquatic, and commercial lands for the people of Washington. These lands generate more than $200 million a year, much of it to support public schools, state institutions, and county services.
