The California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) developed this guidance document to support state agency planning and investment in the context of climate change - as directed by Executive Order B-30-15. The guidance provides state agencies with a process for determining how to integrate climate considerations into state planning and investment decisions. The guidance offers an introduction to climate risks and how to start incorporating them; some common analytical practices; and principles to guide decision making around climate adaptation, community resilience, and social equity.

The State of Washington Department of Ecology Toxic Cleanup Program (TCP) has assessed the vulnerability of toxic cleanup sites to climate change impacts, and offers guidance in this report to site managers on these risks. The guide supports the development of site level climate vulnerability assessments and adaptation strategies for any stage of a cleanup - including site investigations; remedy selection, design, and implementation; and operation and maintenance.

East Boston and Charlestown, Massachusetts are coastal communities that face significant vulnerability to sea-level rise and coastal flooding. Created with the support of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Barr Foundation, this report describes local climate risks, and provides short- and long-term resilience strategies for these areas. This is the first neighborhood coastal resilience plan to be implemented from the Climate Ready Boston plan and initiative.

Developed in partnership between the Rockefeller Foundation and Arup, the City Resilience Index is a web-based tool for conducting a city-wide resilience assessment. Based on evidence from 28 cities and three years of research into what constitutes resilience, the Index is globally applicable - and has already been tested in five cities: Arusha, Concepción, Shimla, Hong Kong, and Liverpool.

This guidance was developed to support local government decision-makers, planners and community members in the Puget Sound region of Washington to better understand the implications of climate change in the area, and to further climate adaptation planning. The report includes detail on the projected climate change impacts for the region, and guidance on incorporating climate impacts and adaptation planning into local comprehensive plans. The report uses the Washington State Comprehensive Plan requirements under the Growth Management Act to inform the adoption of climate adaptation solutions within local planning elements.

Achieving Urban Resilience illustrates the environmental, health and economic benefits that Washington, D. C. could gain from citywide adoption of smart surface technologies such as cool roofs, green roofs, solar PV, porous pavements, bio-retention, rainwater harvesting, reflective pavements, permeable pavements, and urban trees. The report quantifies the benefits of adopting cost-effective strategies to manage sun and rainfall at a city level, and documents how the District could save at least $5 billion over 40 years with smart surface strategies.

As established by the Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 4715. 21 for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience, the DoD is updating current directives to consider the effects of climate change on its operations. The DoD is leading a pilot project to begin working with local communities on climate resilience planning. The National Guard Adaptation Planning Pilot Project has been implemented for Camp Grayling, Michigan. This report details an action plan developed for Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center - aimed at managing the impacts of climate change on the installation, as well as in the greater community.
