CISA is a member of NOAA's Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) program, which supports climate research for decision-makers and policy planners at a regional level. CISA is committed to improving the range, quality, relevance, and accessibility of climate information for decision-making and resource management in North and South Carolina. CISA's initial research focus areas included water supply and quality modeling, and have more recently turned to climate impacts on public health and coastal communities.

As evidenced by the resources included in the Adaptation Clearinghouse, CAP maintains a focus on equity in climate adaptation.

Founded in 1978, Communities for a Better Environment (CBE) seeks to build the power of California’s communities of color and low-income people to achieve environmental health and justice by preventing and reducing pollution and building green, healthy, and sustainable communities and environments. CBE provides residents in blighted and heavily polluted urban communities in California with organizing skills, leadership training, and legal, scientific, and technical assistance, so that they can successfully confront threats to their health and well-being.

The East Central Florida Regional Resilience Collaborative, formalized on May 15, 2019, is an intergovernmental network built around three key aspects of resilience: health and equity, built infrastructure and natural environment, and economic resilience. The Collaborative aims to reduce the region’s carbon footprint, lower the risks and vulnerabilities utilizing emergency management, and increase efforts towards sustainability on a regional scale.

EMEAC seeks to fight environmental racism and fossil fuel dependence, while building community solutions and resilience inside Detroit. Its programs focus on climate justice, youth leadership, public commons, political education and organizing, and just economic transition. Community resilience projects focus on topics such as urban agriculture, youth leadership from frontline communities, and renewable energy.
