In 2018, Massachusetts launched resilent MA, an online clearinghouse for local governments and the public with comprehensive information about the state’s work on climate adaptation and mitigation. The clearinghouse contains science and data on expected climate changes, information on community resiliency, decision support tools, and links to grant programs and technical assistance that local government and communities can use to fund and support actions to adapt to climate change.

Department of Transportation (DOT) replaced the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program with the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) transportation grant program. Whitefish, Montana has committed to climate change mitigation and adaptation measures in this Climate Action Plan. Drafted by a mayor-appointed committee with extensive public involvement, the plan describes the actions that Whitefish can take to transition to a clean energy economy, reduce GHG emissions, and strategically build resilience to climate change impacts. The report outlines nearly 100 specific actions to implement 26 climate adaptation and mitigation strategies across six chapters for six focal sectors: City Buildings and Energy; Transportation and Land Use; Water and Wastewater; Forests and Watersheds; Consumption, Food and Waste; and School District.

In March 2018, the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) initiative released the "Safer and Stronger Cities" report with a series of policy recommendations on how the federal government could help support urban resilience initiatives. Five chapters focus on strategies for enhancing resilience through infrastructure, housing, economic development, and public safety. Each chapter provides a background discussion of the resilience challenges for cities; the opportunities to enhance resilience in these focal areas including climate adaptation strategies; and case study examples of local, state, and federal actions to advance resilience in each sector.

California’s Adaptation Clearinghouse has been developed by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) in response to CA’s 2015 Senate Bill 246 - which directed OPR to form the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program. One main component of the Program is the State Adaptation Clearinghouse, which serves as a “centralized source of information and resources to assist decision makers at the state, tribal, regional, and local levels when planning for and implementing climate adaptation projects to promote resiliency across California.
