Alaska's Immediate Action Workgroup (IAWG) was formed in 2007 to make and prioritize annual recommendations to address climate change threats to the State's communities. The IAWG examined the needs and priorities of a sub-set of communities under imminent threat from climate change impacts, including Kivalina, Koyukuk, Newtok, Shaktoolik, Shismaref, and Unalakleet. This is the first annual report, and it is applicable to recommended actions for 2008-2009. .

ClimateLA is an implementation program for action items discussed in the GreenLA plan released by the City of Los Angeles in May 2007. In May 2007, the City of Los Angeles, California published “Green LA: An Action Plan to Lead the Nation in Fighting Global Warming,” which included more than fifty specific climate mitigation actions designed to reduce the City’s contributions to climate change, and to prepare a response to the changes that have already begun to occur.

StormSmart Coasts is a program for coastal management decision makers and communities, providing the latest and best information on coastal weather and climate hazards. The successful launch of the Massachusetts StormSmart Coasts initiative in 2008 led to the development of a national network in 2009. The network is a partnership of coastal decision makers supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal Services Center, Northeast Regional Ocean Council, Gulf of Mexico Alliance, and others which represent the StormSmart Coasts Network.

This study addresses climate change related impacts in the San Diego region projected to occur by 2050. It was prepared for inclusion in the 2008 Climate Change Impacts Assessment Second Biennial Science Report to the California Climate Action Team. Focusing on interrelated issues of climate change, sea‐level rise, population growth, land use, water, energy, public health, wildfires, biodiversity, and habitat, the report looks at the potential impacts by 2050, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

The City of Chicago Climate Task Force developed this Climate Action Plan to address both mitigation and adaptation. The brief adaptation section of the plan discusses nine strategies including: heat management, innovative cooling, protect air quality, manage stormwater, implement green urban design, preserve plants and trees, engage the public, engage businesses, and plan for the future.

This report presents a comprehensive policy framework to assist Florida state government first in assessing the likely impacts of climate change on its coastal regions and communities and then developing and adopting policies and programs that will enable the state, its communities, and its residents to adapt to and adaptively manage those impacts over the near and long term. This project is a collaboration between the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions (CUES) in the College of Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs at Florida Atlantic University and the project’s sponsor, the National Commission on Energy Policy (NCEP).
