Southeast Florida Regional Climate Action Plan

October 2012

The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact was executed by Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties in January 2010 to coordinate mitigation and adaptation activities across county lines in the region. The Compact is a focused collaborative, providing the vision and framework for regional resilience. The Compact calls for the Counties to work cooperatively in order to develop a coordinated response to proposed state climate legislation and policies; to create a Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Action Plan to include mitigation and adaptation strategies; and to meet annually in Regional Climate Summits to mark progress and identify emerging issues.

San Luis Obispo, California Climate Action Plan

August 2012

This Climate Action Plan for the City of San Luis Obispo (SLO), California describes the measures be taken to meet the city’s adopted GHG emissions reduction target of 1990 levels by 2020, which is consistent with California AB 32. Climate adaptation is addressed throughout the plan as well, with strategies that complement the mitigation measures across many focal sectors.

On February 7th, 2013 35 federal agencies released their third annual Strategic Sustainability Performance Plans (SSPPs), which for the first time included Climate Change Adaptation Plans to help federal agencies reach climate change resilience goals.

Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan

June 15, 2012

The City of Austin, Texas adopted the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan in 2012 and established “sustainability” as the central policy direction of the 30-year plan. Austin recognizes the impacts of climate change, and has incorporated broad climate adaptation planning goals along with many other sustainability, conservation, and green infrastructure focused strategies into this plan.

PlaNYC 2030 - A Greener Greater New York

April 2011

First released in 2007, PlaNYC was an unprecedented effort undertaken by New York City Mayor Bloomberg to prepare the city for one million more residents, strengthen the economy, combat climate change, and enhance the quality of life for all New Yorkers. The Plan brought together over 25 City agencies to work toward the vision of a greener, greater New York.

Pennsylvania Climate Adaptation Planning Report: Risks and Practical Recommendations

2011

The first multi-sector, statewide effort to identify practical strategies for addressing climate change impacts, this report includes the recommendations for climate change adaptation of four sector-specific working groups: Infrastructure, Public Health and Safety, Natural Resources, and Tourism and Outdoor Recreation.  It builds upon the 2010 report  “Weathering Climate Change: Framing Strategies to Minimize the Impacts on Pennsylvania Ecosystems and Wildlife."

A Climate of Progress - City of Boston, Massachusetts Climate Action Plan Update 2011

On Earth Day, April 2011, Boston's then Mayor Menino released 'A Climate of Progress,' the updated Climate Action Plan for the City of Boston, which encompasses the recommendations from the 2010 report of the Climate Action Leadership Committee and the Community Advisory Committee.
