TerrAdapt: Cascadia Tool
2017
The TerrAdapt:Cascadia tool, founded by a team of practitioners and scientists, is a visualization tool for monitoring habitats and habitat connectivity across the Cascadia region, which covers Washington and portions of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and British Columbia. The tool projects habitat and ecosystem scenarios utilizing climate and land-use data, and can help users prioritize conservation practices in at-risk areas. In partnership with Cascadia Partners Forum and other regional users, the non-profit TerrAdapt.

Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians Climate Change Program
The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians (ATNI) is a nonprofit organization representing 57 Northwest tribal governments from Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Southeast Alaska, Northern California and Western Montana. The ATNI Climate Change Program supports member Tribes with best practices to address and adapt to climate change, serving as a clearinghouse for, and coordinator of, tribal and intertribal efforts. ATNI prioritizes climate resilience strategies that protect tribal treaty rights and trust resources.

Boise, Idaho - Boise's Climate Action Roadmap
2021
In 2021, the City of Boise, Idaho published Boise's Climate Action Roadmap, a plan to help the city and its communities become carbon neutral and build resilience and ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change. The plan includes seven categories for action that will help reach both emissions reduction and resilience goals: Buildings and Energy, Transportation, Consumption and Waste, Food Systems, Natural Environment, Water, and Innovation and Engagement. In advancing strategies within these climate action priorities, Boise will be operating under three guiding principles to advance equity, improve health and wellness, and grow a climate economy.

USGS - Northwest Climate Science Center Funding Opportunity
February 5, 2018
The U. S. DOI/USGS Northwest Climate Science Center (NW CSC) has announced 2018 funding available for Principal Investigators (PIs) from the NW CSC University Consortium (University of Washington, Boise State Univ. , Univ. of Montana, Washington State Univ. , and Western Washington Univ. ) as well as all USGS PIs. Funded projects will address the goals identified in the NW CSC Science Agenda for 2018-23, through scientific research or data synthesis on climate impacts on endangered species, regional adaptation and management, and social systems.

Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment for the Upper Snake River Watershed Tribes
February 2017
The Upper Snake River Tribes include the Burns Paiute Tribe, Fort McDermitt Paiute Shoshone Tribe, Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of the Fort Hall Reservation, and Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation that together are represented by the Upper Snake River Tribes (USRT) Foundation. The USRT assessment focused on climate change vulnerabilities of their reservations in the 97,000 acre watershed in the Great Basin region - primarily in Idaho, with reservation lands extending into southwest Oregon and northeastern Nevada.

West Wide Wildfire Risk Assessment
2013
The Council of Western State Foresters and the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition (WFLC) developed a wildfire risk assessment of all lands for the 17 western states and select Pacific Islands - known as the West Wide Wildfire Risk Assessment, or WWA. Three sets of summary statistics were developed using the results of the WWA, including Regional Summary Statistics, State Summary Statistics, and County Risk Reports, as well as maps of wildfire risk demonstrating fire threat and that to key assets - downscaled to the county level.

Literature Synthesis on Climate Change Implications for Water and Environmental Resources
September 2013
This report synthesizes regional studies on the implications of climate change on Bureau of Reclamation operations and activities in 17 Western States. Specifically, the report addresses past and projected effects of climate change on hydrology and water resources. The report outlines implications for the key resource areas the Bureau considers in its planning processes for each of the Bureau's five regions: Pacific Northwest, Mid-Pacific, Lower Colorado, Upper Colorado, and Great Plains.

Pacific Northwest Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment
September 2012
The Pacific Northwest Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment, a project undertaken by the University of Washington and other collaborators, provides information on the likely effects of climate change on species and ecosystems in the region. The assessment involves scientists, natural resource managers, and conservation planners, and covers an area that extends beyond the borders of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho both south into the U. S. and north into Canada. The assessment contains four main component projects including a sensitivity database, case studies, habitat suitability modeling, and species population modeling.

Climate Change Impact Assessment for Surface Transportation in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska

The Climate Change Impact Assessment (Assessment) provides a preliminary analysis of the vulnerabilities posed by climate change to the surface transportation infrastructure system in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska region. The Assessment demonstrates a method that planners, engineers, and other agency decision makers can follow when assessing the impacts of climate change on surface transportation in their jurisdiction. The Assessment was conducted for the Region X Northwest Transportation Consortium for transportation policymakers and professionals in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Nez Perce Tribe Clearwater River Subbasin Climate Change Adaptation Plan
December 30, 2011
The Nez Perce Tribe Water Resources Division (NPTWRD) developed this adaptation plan to increase awareness around climate change issues in the Clearwater River Subbasin. Home to the Nez Perce, the Subbasin covers just over 9,000 square miles in Idaho that includes a mix of federal, state, tribal and privately-owned land. Historically hunter-gatherers, the Tribe’s connection to the land is reflected today through dependence on industries such as agriculture, timber production, and tourism and recreation.
