Tucson, Arizona's Water Plan: 2000-2050 was issued by the City of Tucson's Water Department (Tucson Water) in 2004. In this 2008 update, the substantive issues and challenges to ensuring a secure water future remain largely the same (they are detailed in the 2004 Water Plan). However, the planning time frames within which to address these challenges have changed and are discussed in this update. This update also accounts for revised population projections that have since been developed, an increase in the city's Central Arizona Project allocation, and changed planning assumptions and priorities that evolved in the last three years.

The City of Chicago Climate Task Force developed this Climate Action Plan to address both mitigation and adaptation. The brief adaptation section of the plan discusses nine strategies including: heat management, innovative cooling, protect air quality, manage stormwater, implement green urban design, preserve plants and trees, engage the public, engage businesses, and plan for the future.

In March 2007, former Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne established the Department of the Interior (DOI) Climate Change Task Force. Three subcommittees were formed to undertake this assignment. This Draft report was issued by the Science Subcommittee to identify the science and information needed to assist the DOI in addressing the consequences of climate change and to suggest possible options for developing, coordinating, acquiring, and analyzing any additional scientific information that would be helpful for that purpose.

The Climate Action Plan for the City of Homer, Alaska explains the measures the city has adopted to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The adaptation section focuses on strengthening the local economy, encouraging sustainable businesses, anticipating population increases due to migration, preparing for sea-level rise, and developing an emergency preparedness plan. The report also contains information on implementation of the plan. .

While focused on mitigation, the plan contains a short adaptation section that addresses disaster preparedness, water security, fire preparedness, reducing the heat island effect, and protecting public health in Loas Angeles.

This 2007 report provides an overview of King County’s plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to anticipate and adapt to projected climate change impacts. Major accomplishments in 2007 include the development of a vulnerable facilities inventory for divisions responsible for long-term asset management, the adoption of the King County Flood Control Zone District, and discussions of how to prepare for intense storm events and identify flood system co-benefits for public health and environmental quality.
